Kawartha Lakes home sales post quiet month of January
Home sales recorded through the MLS® System of the Kawartha Lakes Real Estate Association Inc. came in below year-ago levels in January 2016.
Residential sales numbered 38 units in January 2016, a decline of 39.7 per cent from January 2015. This stands in sharp contrast to the best December on record posted one month earlier.
New residential listings on the Association’s MLS® System totalled 100 units in January 2016, down 21.3 per cent on a year-over-year basis.
Overall supply is currently running near record lows. There were 280 active residential listings on the Association’s MLS® System at the end of January 2016, dropping 22 per cent from January 2015.
There were 7.4 months of inventory at the end of January 2016, up from 5.7 months reported at the same time last year but below the long-run average for this time of the year.
